Another Clarendon House?

By the sire of Mitbaahy & Queen Mary winner Quick Suzy, this beautifully bred daughter of Group 1 winner Profitable strut her stuff fantastically well along the 2.3f runway that was Doncaster, Town Moor, Goffs UK Breeze Up Sale. She hails from a sale that has produced more Royal Ascot winners than any other Breeze Up sale, across the last 7 years - it’s proven a rich source of black type, top hat ammunition.

“She’s Black Type”

Shortly after we’d secured her for a closing bid of £60,000, the consignor from CAJ stables, who we’ve previously purchased the Group horse CLARENDON HOUSE from, approached us to inform us that we have another Group horse on our hands, such is the prowess this filly has shown him at home and such is the faith he has in her - praise indeed!

Pedigree Update:

Half brother Hammer the Hammer bolts up on Handicap Debut after breaking his maiden impressively.

The Plan

Out of a multiple winner producing Acclamation mare, whose progeny have proven to border on being black type performers, Profitable is far and away the most successful sire the mare has visited to date - & only a meagre upgrade by this filly’s sire, could see her destined for pattern races, with their associated black type. She showed an immense amount of dash throughout her breeze, highlighted by her top 5% of all fillies’ finish through the first furlong of her breeze and a top 7% score across all the day’s breeze’s, colts and fillies, which places us in a particularly favourable position, to say the very least. ‘Winning races, notable races and earning valuable black type to enhance her value’ will be a mission statement to which we’d like to aspire.

A Day in Her Life

She’s currently settling in at Rod Millman’s and is taking everything in her stride, going about her business with aplomb. We’re firmly of the opinion that Rod and his team are ‘pound for pound’, to coin a Boxing phrase, as good a trainer as any in the country, and without hesitation, that’s where she’s headed, once we’d secured her, at auction. Prior to the purchase, Rod had painstakingly studied her breeze, which we all adored, and just as carefully, checked her out from top to toe for any ailment or issue that could get in the way of achievement. Rod’s adamant that she’s a filly we ought to be able to crack straight on with, and hit the track with her come May time, or June at the latest, hopefully just this side of Royal Ascot.

She looks great value, is with an outfit that offers great entertainment and attention to detail - there’s no finer opportunity to sample all the delights of racehorse ownership. Devon knows how to make it dreamy!
