Winner 36 of 2025: ZIGGY’S MISSILE, trained by Robert Cowell and ridden by Jack Mitchell. ‘Smart Works Charity Race Handicap’ over 5f at Chelmsford.
A brilliant front-running ride from Jack Mitchell, saving enough petrol early on the slow track, to see our son of Blue Point back to his best over the minimum distance and take the feature race at Chelmsford. After a rapid start from Ziggy’s Missile, he disputed the lead from the gate, travelled strongly and showed a fantastic attitude in the closing stages to fight off all challengers to win by ¾ length. A 6th victory for our 4-year-old, who slowly but surely progresses into a quality sprinter.

Timeform rated his 6th victory with a p96, saying: "Was back in a more suitable grade and returned to form switched back to all-weather, his record on synthetic surfaces a good one; made all, ridden over 1f out, kept on."
An extremely delighted Robert Cowell: "It was a pleasure to see ZIGGYS MISSILE win in decisive fashion back on the All Weather yesterday. The drop in grade certainly helped and I’m sure this will have given his confidence a boost. He was smartly away and when asked for the effort close to home he pinned his ears back and was very game. It adds another string to his bow handling this particular surface at Chelmsford."
