Winner 94 of 2026:  MR COOL, trained by Charlie Johnston and ridden by Connor Beasley. The ‘Market Cross Jewellers Handicap’ over 6f at Redcar.

 How often can you ask how cool Mr Cool is? Now a 4-time winner with another 11 podium finishes, it shows how much our son of Kodiac loves racing and how consistently he ran throughout the summer.

Mr Cool jumped well, and credit to Connor, who managed to overcome a high draw and got him right behind the leaders against the stand side rail, where he travelled strongly. Our pair disputed the lead with a furlong to go and held on to victory by the closest of margins.

Huge well done to his owners. His second victory in three runs. A great horse to own, the perfect syndicate horse?

Timeform rated his victory with a 78: "Was seen to good effect as he returned to winning ways, always well placed and clear of the trouble that befell some of his rivals, most notably the unlucky runner-up; prominent, led over 1f out, just held on; shouldn't go up much for this and can remain competitive."
