Tim says: “Unbelievable value we thought. A full sister to a listed winner and Group 3 placed horse in Italy. Possibly the fact that the form is in Italy & that Twilight Son has lost a little cast of late, could explain why we bought her for a lot less than we thought we’d have to give”.
Likely to be a first half of the season sort with very much one eye on Royal Ascot, where we managed to have a number of 2yo runners this year including the Queen Mary 2nd (Maylandea) and the Windsor Castle 3rd (Eddie's Boy.)
She qualifies for the £300,000 Goffs Harry Beeby Premier Yearling Stakes; a race, that we won this year with our £40,000 purchase Shouldvebeenaring. He earned £122,000 in winning that day, at York’s Ebor Festival and his owners won a £47,000 voucher to spend on a ‘free’ horse at this year’s Sale too.
This filly also qualifies for races like the £250,000 Weatherby’s Super Sprint, held at Newbury in July, a race we won this season with our 45,000gns yearling purchase Eddie’s Boy. Furthermore, they will qualify for Redcar’s £250,000 2yo Trophy, which we’ve won in the past with Ventura Mist, and the £300,000 Weatherby’s Insurance Sales race, held at Doncaster in September could easily be on this horse’s agenda too.
A sharp and racy sort, we’d hope to debut in April or May, with Royal Ascot in mind, hopefully. Then, all being well, on to Sales races and Group races. However, failing that, we’d go on to look at nursery handicaps at, hopefully, the main, summer festivals, where our silks are regularly seen.
We’ve a proven track record of delivering, year in, year out, and we’d hope a fair number of our Goffs Uk purchases can deliver on the highest stage, again in 2023.
Watch her walk, here:
The same MPR buying team, who bought last year's yearlings have done a great job-no doubt they have struck gold with this one too!
Training update (15th Sept): She is getting on great during the breaking in process and has completed the stages of lunging with one and two reins, stopping and starting on command and is now long reining within the lunge ring, arena and around and about along with walking through the stalls. We have also started to lean across her in the stable. She is taking to her work well. See the supporting video of her, below.
