Absolute Queen
Race entries
Undoubtedly, one of Newmarket’s most up and coming trainers, is George Boughey.
On the back of his success, we’ve decided to try to send George, what we like to call “a horse with elite potential”, meaning that by spending a little extra on a quality individual, with a strong pedigree, where there’s no compromise whatsoever, in pursuit of potential achievement at an elite level of racing. This filly oozes class and to be frank, she was our favourite filly in the sale, that would be available, on a middle market budget (€75,000-€150,000).
Her late sire ZOFFANY, was the sire of our Group 1 winner and St Leger 2nd placed VENTURA STORM, who is mentioned in this story about him: https://www.thoroughbreddailynews.com/zoffany-dies-aged-13/
She possesses a fantastic pedigree, already being a sister to a black type performer, and her walk and demeanour simply cannot be faulted. She floats across the ground. Her consignors, Oghill House Stud, were very, very sweet on her, labelling her as “a filly with the greatest temperament, we’ve ever had.”
Now that’s some praise indeed, from people who have been in the game for decades. Where 2yo fillies are concerned, the importance of a good mindset, cannot be over stated.

*PEDIGREE UPDATE: 1st dam BEAT THE STARS (IRE): dam of Astral Beat (IRE) (19 c. by Cotai Glory (GB)): placed at 2, 2021.
Racing Update: She’s a beautiful horse, who cost a pretty penny as a yearling. She’s very well-bred too and will retain considerable value for the paddocks once her racing career comes to an end. Came to hand in the Summer, earlier than expected and ran really well. Still a maiden, shedding that tag ought to prove a formality, going forward, given she’s thrived for a summer break and is ready to run again now. She’s bred to stay north of a mile, so hasn’t been operating over suitable distances so far. Many of George’s 2yo’s are proving fabulously well handicapped now and we see no reason why Absolute Queen should prove any different. We’ve always hoped she can make up into a black type performer, and we’d still have those sorts of hopes for her. Her race entries/declarations will show on this page.
George says: "ABSOLUTE QUEEN (far side, below) is not far from a return. She’s a much bigger filly this time round. Amazing really she was active in the summer. I would expect to see her upped in trip when next seen (hopefully soon.)"
