WINNER 105 OF 2021: PRETTY SWEET, trained by George Boughey and ridden by Callum Shepherd: 'The Unibet 3 Uniboosts a Day Fillies' Handicap' over 1m 3f at Kempton.

Breaking smartly from the stalls, Callum settled her in 3rd. Moving into second 2f out, she smoothly took the lead in the home straight and kept on well, to win comfortably by 2 and a 1/2 lengths.

Timeform rated it as a career best p95, saying: "Took advantage of a good bit of placement to resume winning ways, going some way to making amends for his Wolverhampton defeat, still to finish out of the first 3 in her 9 starts so far; prominent, travelled fluently, led under 2f out, in command final 100 yds, won readily; should remain competitive.”

Callum said in his Racing TV interview: "That went very nicely. She took up a good position from the gate and they went a nice even gallop. She lengthened all the way to the line and thoroughly deserved it.”

Syndicate manager Mike says: "Well she is turning into a good HIT Sale purchase! Since she had her first start for us in September, her form figures have read 2,1,2,2,3,2,2,1. Winning on both the turf and the AW, she is certainly in great form for her owners and we will look at some valuable prizes for her going forward. Well done to her syndicate and top work to George for her campaign.”

WINNER 106 OF 2021: LELANTOS, trained by Nicky Henderson and ridden by Nico de Boinville: 'The New Year's Day Racing At Fakenham Handicap Hurdle' over 2m 7.5f at Fakenham.

Winning last time out at Southwell, he lined up over the same trip, but for the first time at Fakenham. Nico had him tracking the leaders, then moving smoothly to lead 3 flights from home. Then, he was joined at the next, so he was asked for more effort, but faced a sustained challenge around the home turn, as the pair pulled away from the rest of the field. They both jinked into each other at the last, but he showed great resolution and stayed on, to win by 1 and a 1/4 lengths.

Timeform rated it as a career best 106, saying: "Is going the right way and followed up from last time, wandered approaching last and bumped runner-up, in command soon after.”

Thank you to one of his owners Roz, for sharing her lovely photos of the day with us!

It was a brief interview with Nico, as there was a stewards enquiry ongoing, but he did quickly say in his Sky Sports Racing interview: "They both jinked before the last, but he knuckled down there to the line." Then we heard the announcement from the stewards, that the result stands - hoorah!

Syndicate manager Tom says: "Well that was a thoroughly earned win from him. We had identified before the race that the handicap debutant was likely to be our main danger and it certainly turned out that way, both ourselves and them having a prolonged battle for the better part of half a mile. He’s a thorough stayer and he saw the trip out very well once again. Well done to his owners; he’s on the crest of a wave at the moment and really putting it all together and it’s great to be a part of it!”
