There are all sorts of places that a superstar can be unearthed, and some of our best results have been when purchasing the first foal from a black-type mare hyphen and tested - take Great Page and Viren’s Army, for instance, going back a little while. Combined, they both sold for £1 million at the Goffs London sale for their lucky owners, having achieved stakes race success for ourselves on the track during their 2yo & 3yo careers.
We’ve acquired here, on a very sensible budget of £28,000 (before sales commissions and sales race entry fees) a filly who severely punches above her financial weight, given she has black type genes from her dam, Group 1 Prix Jean Prat winning genes from her Tally Ho based, first season sire Good Guess (a son of Kodiac himself) but also that her physique and movement, in her slower paces at least, are those of a horse who should have cost a fair bit more than she did. There wouldn’t be too many, better moving fillies on the entire sales’ grounds at Doncaster and it’s fair to say she doesn’t look a thoroughly feminine filly, she has a reasonable semblance of a colt, just as did Great Page, which we’re often of the opinion that such physique advantages strong robust files over the or more feminine counterparts, at least in the Sprint division, that is.
She, of course, qualifies for both The Weatherbys Super Sprint 2027 (MPR horses have won 2 of the last 5 renewals), The Harry’s Half Million (MPR horses have won 2 of the last 5 renewals) & the £250,000 GoffsUK race bonuses in situ for the first time in 2027 - her pedigree fits well with these sorts of potential targets. She’s a Band C graduate due to her price tag, which will seriously advantage Jack and the team in terms of race placement in 2027. She’ll qualify for pretty much every single 2yo maiden or novice that presents itself over any trip - a huge fillip - often many of the races she will qualify for can carry £25,000 or £30,000 in added prize money.
