Our now 9-year-old, a real MPR stalwart, who recorded his last win on the turf two years ago, showed the younger generation how it’s done (the second- and third-placed horses were both only 3 years of age). TYGER BAY travelled powerfully in the hands of Joe Leavy, tracking the leaders, with the frontrunner setting a strong pace.
Tyger Bay responded promptly when under pressure two furlongs from home, went clear inside the last half furlong and kept on well in the final 100 yards to hold off his opponents to win by ½ length. A huge milestone success, not just for Tyger Bay, but for MPR - 1800 victories in the famous light blue and orange silks.
