King's Scholar

Winner 107 of 2026: KING’S SCHOOL, trained by Gemma Tutty and ridden by Molly Keegan Price (7). The ‘RFJ And Bee Jays Electrical Handicap (Div II)’ over 7f at Doncaster.
After a huge run last time out on the Knavesmire, we hoped for another good outing from our fella, but we knew it wouldn't be a walk in the park, as it was a competitive Saturday handicap on heavy ground.
We again booked the services of young apprentice Molly Keegan Price, who seems to get on very well with our son of Lightning Spear.
Molly kept it straightforward and, after a good start, King's School disputed the lead when the field split. He travelled strongly throughout and really picked up in the final two furlongs, dug deep in the final yards to win by over a length.
It was a fine first victory on the turf for our now 5-year-old, after a gutsy display, who had recorded four more victories on the All-Weather surface over the past few seasons.
Thanks to King’s School, Gemma Tutty celebrated a much bigger milestone, saddling her 100th winner on Saturday.

Timeform rated his success with an 88: "Produced a career best, registering a first win away from Newcastle and proving his effectiveness on heavy ground in no uncertain terms; raced centre, led group, went on under 3f out, in command from 2f out."
