A Quality Colt from a top sprinting Family!
You couldn’t wish for a better sprinting family than the one from which this rapid-looking colt hails - most notably Frizzante, Firenze & Zidane.
However, you don’t have to delve too deeply into his page to unearth high-quality talent
- his sire Ardad (a son of Kodiac) was the winner of the Windsor Castle & Flying Childers as a 2yo, and he’s already sired household names such as Perfect Power (currently a stallion), Crispy Cat, Vintage Clarets, Clearpoint, to name but a few.
- his dam, Marilyn, herself a 2yo winner & rated 86, has already produced the RPR 94-rated and unbeaten in 2026 Bobby McGee, who has recently been sold to continue racing in Hong Kong: he’s very much on the improve still at the tender age of 3yo.
Ardad is the best stallion Marilyn has visited, and you’d like to believe that this sizeable colt could take his dam’s progeny’s performance to a greater level still.
Sizeable and strong with a great action, we’d like to believe he could emulate the achievements of a previous MPR & Archie Watson purchase from this sale, EDDIE’S BOY (Weatherbys Super Sprint & Group 3 winner) purchased for 42,000gns, earned £236,000 and was sold for 320,000gns at the end of his 2yo career. We’d love to follow in Eddie’s Boy’s’ hoofsteps and trade him on in a similar vein.
He came in perfectly on budget at 35,000gns (before commissions & sales race entries) and it sets him up brilliantly for races like The Weatherbys Super Sprint, The £200,000 Tattersalls Super Auction series and you wouldn’t rule out races like Redcar’s 2yo Trophy either with its £150,000 added prize money - we’ve won the race before here at MPR with Ventura Mist alongside, of course, Anthelia’s Super Sprint victory last year.
We can see this colt debuting in April 2027, taking in a number of races throughout the season, which could include Epsom, Ascot & Newbury, Newmarket, etc. you’d like to think.
A quality prospect offering a quality project for 2027.
He will, of course, be eligible for next year's Tattersalls Somerville Stakes, where Eddie's Boy finished third, Court Alert second, and Supreme Star 6th in previous years. As well as the ever popular Tattersalls October Auction Stakes, which we could win before with The Dragon King.
