The same sire, the same attractive chestnut coat and the same trainer, as our Classic runner, The Rosstafarian!

Purchased at the Goffs Breeze Up Sale, he is by the Coolmore Stallion STARSPANGLEDBANNER: https://coolmore.com/farms/ireland/stallions/starspangledbanner. Here's a Racing Post Bloodstock story about him: https://www.racingpost.com/bloodstock/bloodstock-latest/he-injects-speed-and-class-high-flying-starspangledbanner-defying-the-odds/494885

We’ve had plenty of success over the years with progeny of the great Starspangledbanner, most notably, The Rosstafarian, who was placed at black type level for us and also ran in the Group 2 Craven Stakes and Irish 2000 Guineas in 2021. He was sold, at the end of his GB career, to Hong Kong, for a very hefty, arguably, life changing sum for his lucky owners.

Hugo Palmer has very quickly established himself alongside Newmarket’s elite trainers, having being catapulted there, by horses such as the Classic winning GALILEO GOLD, GIFTED MASTER, KOROPICK, MOOTASADIR, NEVER BACK DOWN, ESCOBAR and HOME OF THE BRAVE.

Here's his walk and profile video:

He comes highly recommended and we were very much attracted by the fact that he breezed much much quicker than a horse with his pedigree should have. He timed the 10th quickest over the 2.3f Doncaster breeze from a cohort of over 150 horses. Given the majority were by speedy sires like Kodiac, Mehmas, Cotai Glory, Kingman etc, and that our colt is out of a middle-distance family (his dam is by New Approach), his performance is particularly meritorious.

Watch his breeze here:

Racing update: Has worked to a rating, at home, considerably higher than his current, official mark. We’ve tidied up his wind since he last ran and we now have the opportunity to make up for lost time. 7f is probably his trip and he could be ideal for a busy AW winter campaign, culminating in an end of season Finals’ Day, Good Friday appearance, most probably at Lingfield. TIMEFORM RATED: 80. His race entries/declarations will show on this page.
