Woodlands Charm - The Will to Win!

Thu 07 Jul 2022

WINNER 69 OF 2022: WOODLANDS CHARM, trained by Nigel Tinkler and ridden by Rowan Scott: 'The St Teresa's Hospice Fillies' Handicap' over 6f at Catterick.

A winner last time out, at Windsor on June 20th, the likeable daughter of Kodiac was heading the market yesterday. Drawn in 6, towards the centre of the track, she did what she usually does and broke smartly. Rowan was immediately able to get her across towards the rail as she took the lead. He asked her to quicken as she faced a challenge 2f  from the line and she soon went clear, keeping on well, to win comfortably by 2 and a 1/4 lengths.

"Woodlands Charm just loves this game - look at her go!" Watch the full race replay here: https://www.racingtv.com/videos/watch/horse_racing_replays/398897-st-teresa-s-hospice-fillies-handicap-5

Nigel was at the track and after the race, he spoke to Megan Nicholls on Racing TV, saying: "That was absolutely brilliant. This track suits her, as she won here last year. She's a lovely filly."

Timeform rated it as a career best 83, saying: "Is thriving at the moment and produced a career best to follow up from last time, finding plenty on the front end; made all, ridden over 1f out, kept going well; she's got a likeable attitude.”

Syndicate manager Tim says: "Well done to her owners, to Nigel and his team on her fifth career win and to Rowan who has won on her four times now. She has such a fantastic attutude to her racing and puts her head down in a finish. She is creeping up the ranks with every run and is a credit to Nigel."
