Why join a Middleham Park Racing syndicate for 2023?

Wed 01 Mar 2023

Our bloodstock team have completed the purchase of yearlings to race for us in 2023, from the best sales around Europe. This same team did phenomenal work at the yearling sales, that gave us our best ever portfolio of 2-year-olds in 2022. Of the 23 that raced for us, they earned 18 pieces of valuable 'black type'. Here's a rundown of our 2-year-old achievements last year:

THE PLATINUM QUEEN: Group 1 Prix de l'Abbaye de Longchamp Longines winner, Gr 1 Nunthorpe 2nd, Gr 2 Flying Childers 2nd and Alice Keppel Fillies' Conditions Stakes winner (breaking the juvenile 5f track record.)

Bought in April 2022 from the breeze ups, she won £345,730 of prize money and after discussion with her syndicate, who voted to send her to the Tattersalls December Mares' Sale, she was sold for a cool 1,200,000 guineas (equivalent to £1,260 000 or €1,458 000.) Now that's a very decent syndicate result!

EDDIE'S BOY (Archie Watson): Weatherbys Super Sprint winner, Group 2 Criterium de Maisons-Laffitte 2nd, Group 3 Prix Eclipse winner. Listed Windsor Castle Stakes 3rd, at Royal Ascot, Listed Dragon Stakes 3rd. He was a 45,000 gns yearling purchase by our team. He won £210,461 of prize money and was sold at the Tattersalls October HIT Sale for a super 320,000 gns.

SHOULDVEBEENARING (Richard Hannon): Goffs Harry Beeby Premier Yearling Stakes winner and Listed Ripon Champion 2yo Trophy Stakes winner, EBF Conditions Stakes, 2nd.

CUBAN MISTRESS (Rod Millman): Listed St Hugh's Stakes winner, Listed Dragon Stakes 2nd.

PRINCE OF PILLO (Keith Dalgleish): Listed Harry Rosebery Stakes winner. Ripon Hornblower Conditions Stakes winner and Group 3 Cornwallis Stakes, 3rd.

MAYLANDSEA (Michael Bell): Group 2 Queen Mary 2nd, at Royal Ascot, Group 3 Cornwallis Stakes 2nd and Listed Criterium De Vitesse, 3rd.

DEAR MY FRIEND (Mark & Charlie Johnston): Group 3 Zetland Stakes 3rd, Listed Criterium du Fonds Europeen de l'Elevage 3rd.

CORALILLO (Eddie & Patrick Harty): Group 3 Round Tower Stakes, 3rd.

The new group of 2 year-olds for this year that we have purchased, have been carefully placed with trainers all around the country, maintaining our flexible offering for owners, with the excitement of top Newmarket trainers John and Thady Gosden & Roger Varian coming on board. They join Michael Bell, Marco Botti, Karl Burke, Paul and Oliver Cole, Keith Dalgleish, Richard Fahey, Richard Hannon, Alice Haynes, Charlie Johnston, William Knight, Brian Meehan, Rod Millman, Amy Murphy, Adrian Nicholls, Hugo Palmer, Sir Mark Prescott, Kevin Ryan and Archie Watson, as trainers of our 2023 juveniles.

2022 Festival and Worldwide Runners: Middleham Park Racing horses set a superb standard for our newest recruits, last year. They raced around the world, on Festival days, in Group company and there has been plenty of great press and interviews!

Syndicates have been rewarded with superb days out and experiences of a lifetime. Our owners went racing around the country on big Saturday race-days and at Festivals too! Runners at The Cheltenham and Punchestown Festivals (with Marie's Rock winnnig her Grade 1's at both these meetings,) Lincoln day, 2,000 Guineas day, Chester May Festival, York Dante Festival, Irish Guineas Festival at The Curragh, Oaks day and Derby day at Epsom, Royal Ascot, Irish Derby day at The Curragh, the July Festival at Newmarket, the Qatar Goodwood Festival, Shergar Cup day at Ascot,  the Ayr Western meeting, the Ebor Festival at York, St Leger day, the Cambridgeshire meeting and Future Champions day at Newmarket and Champions day at Ascot.

Then farther afield, we had the dual winning experience at the chic 'White Turf' Racing on the snow at St Moritz, the Bahrain turf series, Guineas day at ParisLongchamp, Arc day at ParisLongchamp and meetings at Deauville, Chantilly and Cagnes Sur Mer, where plenty of 'long weekends' were enjoyed and of course 'the trip of a lifetime' to The Breeders' Cup in Kentucky!

There have also been awards and nominations. MARIE'S ROCK was voted the 'Leading Hurdler' at 'The McCoys' and a great night was had at Cheltenham as owners accompanied syndicate manager Tom to collect their award. Read the winners stories here: https://www.roa.co.uk/resources/mccoy-winners-announced.html

THE PLATINUM QUEEN was nominated for the prestigious Cartier Awards and reached the final four and then at the 40th ROA Awards in December, she was voted 'Outstanding Juvenile.' We were honoured to have also made the final of the 'Owner of the Year' category, which was won on the evening by Miss Kirsten Rausing.

You can see the list of winners and the photos, here: https://www.roa.co.uk/resource-library/roa-awards-2022.html. The only syndicate to win an award and what a thrilling evening it was!

With years of experience, syndicating race horses, our team have a wealth of knowledge when buying, managing and race placing horses. We have provided our owners with every possible positive aspect of being a racehorse owner at a fraction of the price of sole ownership. Not many owners in their own right have Group 1 performers and we have now had 6 top level winners, so there's not much else we can say to convince you that joining Middleham Park Racing as an owner is a great idea!

There are other syndicates who may suggest to join them to 'race at the highest level' but none have managed to achieve the record we continue to enhance. If you aren't convinced yet and have a few questions, just have a look through OUR RECORD or our FAQ pages.
