Winner 5 of 2026: UTMOST GOOD FAITH, trained by George Boughey and ridden by Billy Loughnane. The ‘Set Your Limits With Unibet Handicap’ over 8 furlongs at Kempton.

 A relatively cheap purchase, and George's nap of the Tattersalls HIT Sale in October; the hammer went down at only 21.000 Guineas for the exciting, and lightly raced, now 3-year-old gelding, who showed the faith his trainer and owners have in him in the utmost impressive manner on his stable debut.

After a good start, he travelled strongly in the hands of Billy, with the pair sitting just off the leader. In a race with little pace on, his jockey allowed him to stride on, and once he found his rhythm, there was no stopping him in the home straight, where he pulled clear of his rivals to win the feature event by over 4 lengths.

Timeform rated his UK-debut with a p84: "Was a warm order on first outing since leaving J. A. Stack 21,000 gns and looked well bought in scoring without much fuss despite again racing freely, suggesting there's more to come, particularly if learning to settle, in good hands to build on this; close up, pulled way to front after 3f, kicked on over 1f out, went clear, comfortably."

"He jumped well, but settled nicely into box seat before the leading pair slowed the pace right down. Instead of fighting him too much, I let him go on a stride and use himself, where he found a lovely rhythm in front, with his ears pricked. He opened up nicely in the home straight, but he is still learning on the job, so there is much improvement to come."
