Two entries are made for Italy's richest race and Cold Stare heads for the Greenham Stakes
Our team of syndicate managers regularly scour the European race fixture book for opportunities that shouldn't be missed. Having had our Group 1 success in Milan with Ventura Storm in 2016 and experiencing a very warm welcome and super hospitality, it's only fair that we identify further opportunities for our owners to enjoy a weekend racing break!
Described as "the most important sporting event of the season," the GROUP 2 DERBY ITALIANO is a race valued at €704,000. It is run on the turf over 1m 3f at Rome's Capannelle racecourse: http://www.capannelleippodromo.it/p/18/derby_italiano_galoppo.
We have entered the MARCO BOTTI trained DARK ACCLAIM and our RICHARD HANNON trained TIGRE DU TERRE for the race, which takes place on Sunday May 20th. Both have dual Listed black-type and their trainers are keen to go up in distance in a race of this type, both having performed well in their races this weekend.
Trainer DAVID O'MEARA also got owners' hearts racing this week, when he confirmed that the plan is for COLD STARE to make his MPR debut in the GROUP 3 GREENHAM STAKES at Newbury. It is the opening Flat meeting of 2018 at the course, on April 21st, which decribe it as "the day climaxes with the Greenham Stakes, a key trial for the 2,000 Guineas, won by superstars such as Frankel and Kingman in recent years. It’s a chance to see some of last season’s most exciting juveniles begin their three-year-old campaign and witness some stars of the future too, with subsequent Royal Ascot scorer Eagle Top victorious on the day in 2015." https://newburyracecourse.co.uk/raceday/dubai-duty-free-spring-trials-weekend/
We purchased Cold Stare at the Tattersalls H-I-T sale. A dual-winning Listed winner, we are excited to see him race in our colours this season. Shares are available and you can read his details here: https://bit.ly/2pYFLGW
