Winner 79 of 2026: UTMOST GOOD FAITH, trained by George Boughey and ridden by Billy Loughnane. The ‘Betfred 'Matchday Turbo Boosts' Handicap’ over 7f at Epsom.

 A back-to-back winner on the All-Weather surface back in January and February under Billy Loughnane, our son of Starspangledbanner returned to the winner’s enclosure in good style at Epsom after some decent efforts in defeat on his last few starts.

The 3-year-old gelding was drawn wide but broke sharply from the stalls and disputed the lead after half a furlong. Billy did an incredible job of getting him to the front and against the far rail. He only received mild pressure from the eventual second and third, which allowed Billy to get a good breather into him before he kicked for home. Utmost Good Faith found plenty under pressure and fought off all challenges to win, rather impressively, by over 2 lengths. A fine performance from our 3-year-old, who took on older horses for the first time and fully deserved another victory after some good performances in hugely competitive handicaps. A massive well done to George Boughey and his team for keeping him in great shape all season.

He received a rating of 100 from Timeform, who commented: "Has been running in some good quality 3-y-o only events and got back on the up, eased in grade taking on older rivals for the first time; forced pace, typically took strong hold, ridden over 2f out, edged right over 1f out, kept going well."
