Revich Revered On The Roodee!
Our 39th Winner of the year: REVICH trained by Richard Spencer and ridden by Tom Marquand: The #ChesterTogether Handicap over 7f at Chester.
Revich is such a fun horse for his owners and has an enthusiastic syndicate who support him well when he runs. When we declared him for Chester, they were very keen to go and watch him at a racecourse that does a fantastic job of looking after owners.
Backed into favouritism he had a good draw in 2 and had won over 7f at the track before, so all looked rosy. However, he was slowly away which was not in the plan! Tom held on to him though without panicking and they made good headway on the outer coming around the bend. He canvassed him to make his effort and Revich responded with gusto at the 1 furlong pole, he was moving closer and went on to lead in the final 110yds, running on well to win by 2 lengths. You could hear the owners cheering as he crossed the line!
Richard was at he track and was interviewed on Sky Sports Racing after the race. He said: "After his last run, Adam Kirby said to try him in a visor, which we did today and it worked. Although he missed the break and was left at the back of the field, Tom gave him a lovely ride, waiting to pounce in the straight."

Syndicate manager Tim says:"I am delighted to have our patience rewarded. There’s been a few entries to consider between his last race at HQ and Chester, but we were right to decline them and wait for the right race, here, where he’d won previously over Course and Distance. We'll see how he comes out of the race and decide on Tuesday morning if he returns to Chester on Thursday. We must thank the team at Chester for superb owner hospitality yesterday. The feedback was all positive and we are very grateful for the plethora of refreshments and owner prizes that were given out yesterday. Well done to his owners and to Phil Cunningham, who we own him with. That was his 3rd win and a 10th finish in the top three."
