Nicky Henderson's MPR Stable Tour

Thu 19 Oct 2017

Our association with Nicky Henderson goes from strength to strength every year as we constantly refine our purchasing process and we seem to be buying nicer and nicer horses each season. Yet considering the first horse we bought to be trained at Seven Barrows was favourite for the 2017 Scottish National, it’s probably fair to say we have a very, very exciting season indeed ahead of us!

There were many highlights last season, be it Captain Woodie* winning 2 of his 3 starts, Divine Spear running his owners into the winners’ enclosure in countless Saturday handicaps on ITV or, what the majority of us get into this game for, Premier Bond’s emotional 3rd in the Kim Muir at the Cheltenham Festival.

We visited Seven Barrows on Sunday with our owners and heard the thoughts from Nicky on our horses and his plans for the season ahead, which was very exciting! (Pictures of the string are featured on the right, after their canter around the wexford sand gallop.)

In the words of our Champion Trainer “We have some serious kit this year!” We cannot wait to see the string on the track, we have some lovely horses at all aspects of the National Hunt game; senior chasers, novice chasers, novice hurdlers and bumper horses. We feel it’s probably horse for horse the strongest team assembled at any of our trainer’s yards and it really is a testament to Nicky and his whole team. The two 3 year old's, by Malinas and Special Kaldoun already look to be precocious sorts who are heading for bumper campaigns to set them off on their careers. There are shares available in both these new horses here: http://bit.ly/2yz3eBk

Guided by the master that is Mr. Henderson we look set to have our best season ever but most importantly, we hope to have the most fun as well.

You can read Nicky's thoughts on the season ahead for each of our Seven Barrows team on their respective pages here: http://bit.ly/2yuxsry

*It is with regret that we have to pass on that Captain Woodie sustained an injury in training and will unfortunately have to miss the 17/18 season. We hope to have him back better than ever next season.
