WINNER 49 OF 2023: DENRUTH DIAMOND, trained by Rod Millman and ridden by Christophe Soumillon: The 'Prix de la Rablais' over 1,300m/6.5f at Saint-Cloud.

Drawn on the outer, she disputed the lead with the favourite. With her ears pricked, coming into the straight, she edged towards the centre of the track. As Christophe asked her to quicken, she passed the leader and although running green, she ran on under hands and heels and soon asserted, coasting home to win by 1 and a 1/4 lengths.

"Big win for Rod Millman's yard here." Watch the full race replay here: https://www.attheraces.com/racecard/Saint-Cloud/14-June-2023/1323

A good bit of placing as she takes home over €25,000, including the French Owner Premiums that she qualifies for, having been French bred. She hit the headlines too, as she was her sire CITY LIGHT's first winner. Timeform rated it as a 78 performance, saying: "Over a slightly longer trip and back on easier ground, showed a bit of improvement to win her first race; led after 1½f, headed by Concertation before home turn, went bit wider than others early in straight, driven over 2f out, found stride 1f out, led inside last ½f, well on top line as Vive La Reine took second near finish.”

Syndicate manager Tim says: "Well done to her owners on her authoritative victory. A good ride from the maestro Christophe Soumillon, who had her in all the right places at the right time. He had a willing participant as she responded to him asking her to quicken and under hands and heels, she pulled away. It's great when a plan comes together, as we have always had in mind to take advantage of the French Premiums. She will probably get even further and Rod and I have discussed options for her going forward, which I passed on to her owners this morning.

We couldn't be more pleased with our 2 year-olds so far this season. On the day that GOT TO LOVE A GREY and MALC receive ROYAL ASCOT entries, in the Group 2 Queen Mary and the Listed Windsor Castle stakes, with further juvenile entries at Ascot going in tomorrow, the form is looking good!"
