King's School Proves Top Of The Class

Winner 54 of 2025: KING’S SCHOOL, trained by Gemma Tutty and ridden by Warren Fentiman (5). The ‘Equine Products UK Handicap’ over 7f at Newcastle.
An example of consistency during the 2024/25 All Weather season, King’s School was last seen in March and enjoyed a nice and well deserved summer holiday since. Young Warren Fentiman got the leg up, who gets on well with our son of Lightning Spear, having steered him to success before.
After a patient ride from Warren in the early stages of the race, King’s School made good headway at halfway, and began his challenge on the far side inside the last two furlongs. It looked like the eventual second had just done enough, but our 4-year-old didn't back down and battled back inside the final 50 yards to notch a third victory for our owners.
Well done to Gemma and her team for keeping him in such good shape. He has now recorded three wins, four seconds and three thirds since we purchased him alongside Kings Bloodstock from the Horses in Training Sale at Tattersalls in May 2024.

Timeform rated his third success with a t82, saying: "Had eased in the weights earlier in the year and showed a gutsy attitude to make a winning return after 5 months off, worth marking up a shade given the next trio home were ridden more prominently; slowly into stride, mid-division, headway over 2f out, ridden when switched over 1f out, kept on well final 1f, edged ahead near line."
A delighted Syndicate Manager Mike Prince this morning: "Well done on a bit of an unexpected win! Gemma wasn’t expecting him to be quite back to his race fitness and when he was headed in that final furlong we thought he could just fade out, but he was tenacious in the battle and stuck his head down well to get in front near the line. Congratulations all !"
