An incredibly deserving victory for a horse that continues to operate in fantastic form and was more than a shade unlucky in his previous few runs. He saw the trip out well and the change of tactics, not really by design, but circumstances worked to his advantage. Credit must go to Shane, who, despite knowing Flying Fletcher’s usual preference of being a hold-up horse, assessed the race correctly and disputed the lead after a very steady run furlong. A brilliantly judged frontrunning ride from Shane, and a well-deserved third victory from Flying Fletcher, who kept on well in the final stages of the race, always finding enough to fight off the opposition.

Timeform rated his victory with a t81, saying: "Confirmed recent promise as he ended a long losing run, albeit seen to good effect on the day; broke well, dictated, tackled under 2f out, asserted final 1f, ridden out."
