Super Saturday Double

Winner 102 of 2026: SATELLITE OF LOVE, trained by Clive Cox and ridden by Paul Mulrennan. The ‘William Hill Two-Year-Old Trophy (Listed Race)’ over 6f at Redcar.
Three wins from only 5 starts, an incredible second last time out and £214,772 earned in price money, SATELLITE OF LOVE has been an absolute superstar for his owners.
With the dry weather around, we were extremely hopeful of another good run from our son of Minzaal, who relishes the firmer underfoot conditions. The high draw slightly dampened our spirits going into the race, with the second and third favourite drawn in much more favourable stalls than our colt.
But Paul had a plan which he executed to perfection. “He has bags of speed, so I was able to get across” reported Paul post race, and commented further: “He stays well and wasn’t doing a stroke in the last furlong. There will be more fun to be had with him next year and a winter on his back will do him the world of good. He has a great attitude and a big engine.”
A wonderful and well-deserved success after his huge effort last time out from this exciting and very talented colt, who has nothing but improved all year.

Timeform rated his victory with a 104: "Strong in the betting, had no Night In Vegas to deal with this this time and found a bit more progress to go one better than at Newmarket in dominant style; disputed lead, travelled fluently, went on 4f out, effort over 1f out, collided with rail final 1f but stayed on well; he looks the part and listed/minor pattern races aren't out of his reach."

Winner 103 of 2026: GOLD STAR HERO, trained by Michael Bell and ridden by Billy Loughnane. The ‘Ascot Iron Stand Membership Handicap’ over 5f at Ascot.
What a Star he has been this season. From three wins on the bounce early on this year, to multiple placings in highly competitive sprint handicaps to this so much deserved victory in a valuable class 2 handicap.
A very straight forward ride from Billy, with Gold Star Hero able to track the leaders from a prominent position after a good start. He travelled strongly throughout the race and kept on resolutely in the closing stages, after disputing the lead inside the final furlong.
