Winner 16 of 2026: FILLY FODEN, trained by Rod Millman, and ridden by Kieran O’Neil. The ‘Midnite Aint Your Grandads Bookie Restricted Novice Stakes’ over 5f at Southwell.

FILLY FODEN broke well and quickly disputed the lead against the near side rail in the 5-furlong contest. Travelling well throughout, our daughter of Ardad showed a game attitude off a strong pace and fought off all attacks in the closing stages to hold on and win by a neck.  A well-deserved victory for our 3-year-old filly, who ran some fabulous races in defeat. Well done to Rod, who has her in tip-top condition since arriving at his yard. This was only her third start for the team, and she finished on the podium each time.

Timeform rated her victory with a t72: "Has taken a while to make the breakthrough but finally got off the mark at the sixteenth time of asking, not keeping straight under pressure but streetwise enough to hold off the newcomer in second, worth noting this was just her third start for current yard close up, led over 1f out, hung left, kept on."

She was very professional, jumped and travelled, and, besides the others got racing a little bit earlier than I liked; everything pretty much went to plan.
