Divine Spear makes a winning chasing debut

WINNER 86 OF THE YEAR -
Is a superb winning chasing debut by DIVINE SPEAR at Catterick. There were plenty of nerves ahead of his first run over fences, but a lovely ride from Brian Hughes saw him pull nearly 4 lengths ahead of the field at the finish to win in convincing style. He jumped well, although our hearts were racing when he took off a little too soon at one and brushed through the top. 

This is the fourth career win for our son of Oscar and Mr Henderson says "he has a nice future as a novice chaser and beyond". We'll see what the handicapper does on Tuesday to his mark of 133 and make a plan from there, but the golden goal of HQ in March shines brightly on the horizon!

Many congratulations to his owners, who are going to have an exciting season with him and thank you to Brian Hughes and to team Nicky Henderson.
