Cold Stare shows his class to bring up our 70th winner of the year.

Sat 08 Sep 2018

It won't have gone unnoticed that all season we have been saying that our David O'Meara trained Cold Stare has been needing rain (see his page!) and when the Haydock going turned to 'soft, heavy in places'. we were hoping for a good run!

They went a decent pace and that helped him settle beautifully. He travelled well throughout and he showed that he’s still an inexperienced horse as when he hit the front he didn’t really know what to do and David Nolan did a good job of keeping him up to his work to land the Class 3 handicap.

We are delighted for his owners, as we have had to sit on our hands and be patient with him whilst we were waiting for the ground. Well done!

The weights are already set for the Ayr Gold Cup and with a 5lb penalty for yesterday’s win, he should get into the Silver Cup, so we hope he gets his ground up there.
