SEE THE SEA and VENTURA SECRET both make all and go on to win at Pontefract today, to back up their wins last time out.

A lot of work goes into finding the right race and conditions to declare a horse, (as those within the industry will know all too well). It's times like these when the hours studying the fixture book, watching replays and judging a horse's form to pick the right moment to declare bear fruit. With three doubles in as many days this week, there have been plenty of very happy owners greeting their horses in the winners enclosure and plenty of champagne drunk (apologies to Salisbury for the extra bottle of bubbly consumed!)

Today, the Richard Hannon trained SEE THE SEA, showed what a game filly she is, when she made the running in the Gentleman Amateur riders race, under Mr Ben James, holding off the challengers to win by over 2 lengths. She won last time out using the same tactics and seems to have responded so well to the cheek-pieces. Richard said: " She is tough and the head gear has really helped. She looks on an upward spiral and after that she should have no trouble winning again. It’s a long way to send one up north but this trip was worth it in the end." Then VENTURA SECRET, trained by Tim Easterby did exactly the same under Rachel Richardson over the mile, battling gamely and in a strong drive from Rachel to hold on to win. The step up to a mile has been the key to this son of Roderic O'Connor having won both starts at the longer distance.

Congratulations to all owners, who Tim (Palin) tells us had a great day at Pontefract.

Today we passed the £600,000 of race prize money earnings and have now reached 58 winners this year, so riding high!
