A Saturday full of Quality

Winner 83 of 2026: GALILEAN QUALITY, trained by Karl Burke and ridden by Sam James. The ‘Ascot Hospitality Handicap’ over 1m6f at Ascot.  

Our hugely talented son of Teofilo is putting up another career-best performance under a brilliant Sam James at Ascot and is now the winner of 4 races from only 8 runs.

Last seen during the Royal Meeting, where he was forced to race wide due to the draw and met plenty of trouble inside the final two furlongs, but stayed on eye-catchingly to finish a close 6th place.

We returned to the Berkshire track on Saturday, where six horses went to post for the competitive and valuable Class 3 Handicap, and Sam settled our stunning specimen just behind the leaders, allowing him to find his rhythm ahead of his first try over 1m6f.

Turning for home, a very confident Sam started his challenge towards the far side rail, with Galilean Quality still showing some signs of greenness but also evidence of a huge engine as he powered home in the final stages to hold off the eventual placed horses. Another fine effort from our ever-improving 3-year-old, who could head to the Ebor Festival next. Huge well done to his owners.

Timeform rated his new career best with a TFR of 96: "Continues to go the right way and enhanced an already impressive strike rate back in less competitive company, proving suited by the 2f longer trip despite his quirks again being in evidence; chased leaders, ridden approaching 2f out, quickened to lead entering final 1f, edged quite sharply right final 100 yds but ran on."
