Winner 77 of 2026: WEEKEND ROAR, trained by Hugo Palmer and ridden by Oisin Murphy. The ‘It's Racing Staff Week EBF 'Confined' Novice Stakes (No More Than One Run) (GBB Race)’ over 6f at Newmarket (July Course).
After a very eye-catching debut 12 days ago at Salisbury, where he was green in the early stages of the race but showed plenty of promise and a fantastic attitude to stay on strongly and finish a close 3rd, we were optimistic and hopeful of another decent run.
The market was very much in favour of the Godolphin runner, a once-raced son of Night of Thunder, with plenty of late support for the unraced daughter of Rajasinghe, in the silks of Phil Cunningham.
He broke sharply under his rider, Oisin Murphy, who settled him in a prominent second spot from the outset. Travelling strongly throughout, the pair found themselves in front with about a quarter of a mile to go before our chestnut came under pressure inside the final 1 ½ furlongs. For a brief moment, it looked like we would have to settle for third place with the two market rivals heading our son of Supremacy, but his incredible tenacity saw him come out on top in a thrilling three-way tussle.
Huge well done to his owners. Fingers crossed, all roads lead to the Knavesmire in August for our son of Supremacy. Another 2-year-old winner for 2026!

Timeform rated his maiden victory with an 85+: "Showed the benefit of initial experience, responding well when tackled, even if fortunate to have his head in front at the line; prominent, travelled well, led halfway, shaken up over 1f out, edged left, kept on, ridden out; likely to progress further."
