A Double, from our Racing Post 'Star Performers!'

Tue 13 Jul 2021

WINNER 47 OF 2021: FAIRMAC, trained by Mark Johnston and ridden by Ben Curtis : 'The Qts Handicap' over 1m 2f at Ayr.

Thankfully, he broke much swifter than he did last time out at Chester and sat in behind the leader. Still going easily 3f out, Ben asked him to make his move and he took over the lead over 1f out, going clear inside the final furlong, just needing to be ridden out, to win 'comfortably', by 2 1/2 lengths.

"A deserved win for a consistent horse" said the commentator as he crossed the line. Watch the full race replay here: https://www.racingtv.com/videos/watch/horse_racing_replays/339967-qts-handicap-5.

He really has been a model of consistency for his owners, having finished in the winners enclosure on 10 of his 13 starts! This was his second win - back at Ayr where he had previously won at the Western Meeting. The Racing Post made him the 'Star performer' yesterday, saying: Fairmac (4.50) gained reward for a string of creditable efforts with a fluent win under Ben Curtis

Timeform rated it as a career best 89 and say: "Was rewarded for his consistency as he finally opened his account for the year, well placed the way things unfolded; chased leader, travelled well, led over 1f out, in command last ½f."

Ben said in his Racing TV interview: "He deserved that, as he is an honest horse who puts his head down and tries for you. He did it well and dragged me around there and kept finding towards the line, so hopefully he can get some more confidence with that."

Syndicate manager Mike says: "Well done to his owners, pictured looking very pleased! He deserved that win yesterday having knocked on the door on two or three occasions this year and we'll try and look for something similar for him next time."

WINNER 48 OF 2021: KAYFAST WARRIOR trained by Tom Dascombe and ridden by Kieran Schofield (-5) : 'The Get Hugh Taylor's Tips On attheraces.com Handicap' over 1m 1/2f at Wolverhampton.

Well, he came into the race having won 2 back-to-back races since June 30th, so he was aiming for the hat-trick and looking as great as ever in the parade ring. He broke well and just needed a few strides to find his rhythm, but was prominent. Moving on to lead 6f out, he went clear around the final bend and pulled away to win by a stunning 5 1/2 lengths, or as Leonna Mayor said on Sky Sports Racing. "He's won by half the track - a really nice performance."

The Racing Post made him their 'Star performer' of the meeting: "Kayfast Warrior (8.55) galloped clear to land the hat-trick and looks to be progressing fast."

"He's left them toiling in his wake", said the commentator as he pulled away in the home straight. Watch the race replay here: https://www.attheraces.com/racecard/Wolverhampton/12-July-2021/2055

Timeform also gave him a career best rating of 82, saying: "Back on all-weather after just 5 days off, under a penalty, improved again to complete the hat-trick in dominant fashion; disputed lead, went on after 2f, quickened clear around 2f out, won easily; faces a hike in the weights for this, but is thriving so will command respect next time as well."

Syndicate manager Tom says: "Last night was probably his best and most polished performance to date. You should always just keep kicking in moments like these and that's just what we will do, with an entry at Hamilton on Friday. I sent an update to his owners this morning from Mr Dascombe that showed Kayfast Warrior having a nice post race swim before a day in the field - sounds great!"

Not too shabby a day from our 3 runners, two winners and RP Star Performers and DOGON just being denied on the line at Newton Abbot, to take 2nd. Paul saying in our owners review this morning "All in all a great run from him."

and guess what, we have added some shares onto the website for both FAIRMAC and KAYFAST WARRIOR! Take a look here, if you would like to join in the winning fun: https://www.middlehamparkracing.net/buy-shares.htm
