Purchased at the Goffs Premier Yearling Sale, this attractive colt is by the very successful multiple Group 1 sire DANDY MAN. His Group 1 winners La Pelosa, Peniaphobia and River Boyne have made his name as the flag bearer for Joe Foley's Ballyhane Stud.

Dandy Man has had a stellar year with the exploits of the likes of HAPPY ROMANCE (on the day that we write this, she has just won the Group 3 Shadwell Dick Poole Stakes) and Karl Burke’s Dandalla. So, Karl is well versed in knowing what a good, quality Dandy Man yearling looks like. For instance, he purchased Dandalla on spec last year with his daughter Kelly and that’s precisely what they’ve done again here. Kelly and Karl purchased this colt on Day 1 of the Goffs Uk sale, and once we noted, probably half way through the day, when looking through the results, that he’d purchased lot 27 (a horse who had made our short list earlier in the day), we asked if the horse was available? We couldn’t have been more delighted when they replied that he’d been purchased ‘on spec’.  We immediately put our names to him and let’s hope he could be another Happy Romance, Wedding Date or Dandalla for Karl.

He passed the vet and stringent inspections with flying colours - something that is important for us with every yearling we have purchased.

He’s a lovely, robust colt with plenty of substance, but he carries himself really well and is quite an elegant mover with some swing and swagger. His dam has already produced winners and some of them quite decent, so we can’t wait to see him again, on our next visit to Karl’s Spigot Lodge Stables to see how his development is progressing.

View his walk video here and a video of him parading for us at the sale, in the gallery.

Training Update: He's an athletic, good moving individual and has a professional attitude to his work. He is already looking like a racehorse, the way he is moving in this video!
