Purchased from Ireland's premier sale; The Goffs Orby, this filly is by Acclamation. Read about her sire here: http://www.rathbarrystud.com/cms/stallions/acclamation/acclamation/

Over the last decade, possibly the most consistent producing sire of top class, very talented and hardy racehorses in Great Britain, outside of Galileo, is the Rathbarry sire Acclamation. He has sired four quite outstanding horses in recent times namely Dark Angel, Expert Eye, Equiano and fantastic race filly and now broodmare, Marsha. Three of those have gone on to be stallions themselves and there’s little doubt Marsha will produce top class racehorses too. He is of course, also the sire of the leading 1st season sire revelation Mehmas - who was trained by Richard Hannon...

Richard Hannon and Acclamation progeny:

Acclamation and Richard Hannon, just works. There is a virtually endless list of top class individuals, by Acclamation that they’ve had through their hands. Our own Ventura Tormenta (Group 2 Prix Robert Papin winner) this year, is simply the latest example. Other notable Hannon performers over the years by Acclamation include the above mentioned Mehmas, Lilbourne Lad, Harbour Watch, Oh This Is Us and WentworthWell Done Fox, Retainer, Pearl Acclaim, Cake, Crown Dependency our own Move Over to name but a few. These are all horses who have been rated over 100 and trained by Richard Hannon. For some reason, the progeny of Acclamation seems to be particularly suited by the way Richards Snr and Jnr train their horses.

Le Havre is a stallion that works too at Richard’s Herridge base, so being our broodmare sire, we have a proven Hannon recipe for success. This filly is the first foal out of the winning, Listed performer, Westadora and she qualifies for the Great British Bonus Scheme too. Each occasion that she wins a novice or class 4, or above race, she will earn an additional £10,000, on top of the normal levels of prize money allocated to the race. Read all about this fantastic initiative here: https://www.greatbritishbonus.co.uk/gbb/programme/index.html. In fact we bought both of the fillies who qualify for this bonus at the Orby Sale! The other is the Oasis Dream filly with Marco Botti.

This filly is really strong individual who actually resembles a colt, on looks and she would appear every inch a typical Richard Hannon 2yo for 2021. She’s a great mover and walks with purpose and style.

Watch her walk video here:

She looks thoroughly exciting and you’d imagine she could be on the track as early as April or May, in plenty of time for a visit to Royal Ascot for the Queen Mary or Albany Stakes, should she prove up to that sort of level. We can’t wait to see her at Richard’s, strutting her stuff, on the Herridge gallops in preparation for her racing career.

Training Update: She’s a very talented filly, make no mistake. She was on the cusp of Richard Hannon’s Royal Ascot string in Maytime of last year. She went to Windsor for her debut where she was “expected” shall we say. Unfortunately, she lost a shoe leaving the paddock which caused her to bolt to post, and although she’d settled down, nicely, before the start, the experience, and the fact that she was running with only 3 shoes on, took its toll in the race. You’d need to go back and watch the race again, but you can see that’s she’s pretty much got the race ‘won’ with around 1.5f to go, before the earlier exertions and footwear (or lack of it) enabled two of her opposition to come and hunt her down in the final furlong. We declared her for Sandown the following week, to hopefully, earn her Royal Ascot stripes, but she went lame the morning after declaration and needed an operation on one of her hooves. She’s taken a real while to come right and we didn’t really want to press too many buttons, through the cold, Winter months, however she’s ready to rock and roll now and we’d hope this daughter of Acclamation would be up to winning her novice, first time up. She ought to go onto better things. Remains very exciting, given she’s thoroughly unexposed. Her race entries/declarations will show on this page.

Here she is on the gallops, at our March owners stable visit:
