It’s both notable and remarkable, just how precocious and hardy his progeny seem to be, on the track. He’s already established himself as producing horses who carry the label “has a Mehmas head carriage” denoting determination and tenacity. The stride patterns of his offspring are both lengthy and raking and cover plenty of ground and Silky Wilkie certainly has all of these traits!

Racing Update: Now a 6-time winner with £179k of prize money, Silky Wilkie had a fabulous 2023 and has holidayed for a month or so now. He’s back on the go and will be running from 1st January onwards. The target is to qualify him for Good Friday’s Finals’ Day where the prize money is so lucrative. He’s a borderline Group horse so we’ll be dipping our toes back in those sorts of waters come the summer. Timeform rated: 112.
