 Back to winning ways after a very narrow defeat last time out at Lingfield, it just shows in what fantastic form SILKY WILKIE is currently.

Our now 7-year-old broke well from the gates, and Jack Nicholls settled him just behind the pace in third place but was travelling strongly throughout. There was a moment of fear that our son of Mehmas, who was really enjoying himself and galloping powerfully in the hands of young Jack Nicholls, had nowhere to go on top of the home straight. Our tough gelding, though, found a clear passage through rivals, and within just a matter of strides, the pair disputed the lead, and Silky really dug deep inside the final hundred yards to win by ¾ of a length.

An incredible 8th victory for our loyal servant and a 28th winner for MPR in 2026!

Timeform rated his second victory of 2026 with a t94: "Wasn't asked to lead this time and quickly got back to winning ways; prominent, shaken up soon after halfway, got gap approaching final 1f, led inside final 1f, kept on; will be forced back into a higher grade next time, though."
