Purchased at the Tattersalls August sale, we are delighted to offer this son of the great DARK ANGEL: http://yeomanstown.ie/dark-angel/
Tattersalls reported: Lot 568: trainer Roger Fell spends 60,000gns on End Zone (Dark Angel) on behalf of Middleham Park Racing. "We will get him home and get on and run him," said Fell. "He won last time and has put in some good sections – he should go on. He has a good Timeform rating." He was sold by Jamie Railton on behalf of Qatar Racing and trainer David Simcock.
This last time out, comfortable winner, clearly caught the eye of Timeform, for they’ve awarded him a rating of 94p, which suggests he’s at least a Saturday or Festival handicapper or just possibly even better than that, just possibly a listed or Group horse. From an official mark of 77, it’s distinctly possible he’s a very well handicapped individual. Watch that race win here: https://www.attheraces.com/racecard/Lingfield/11-August-2020/1620
It’s not often that cosy, last time out, winners come onto the market, but such are the high and exacting standards of The Qatar operation, he’s come to market, as indeed G Force, our Group 1 winner did a few small years ago. Some of the mid and end race fractions that he has displayed, suggest he has just a hint of star quality about him, which, the particularly astute, Roger Fell will, no doubt, unearth should it be there. He actually resembles, to an extent, on Timeform Ratings, similar credentials to those of Burnt Sugar, who raced for us both, including winning 2 Heritage handicaps in his time for the MPR/Fell connections.
We need to figure out his optimum conditions. He won over 6f after being dropped down from 7f from his previous runs but his cadence data suggests that a mile should be within his compass. Roger spoke to Jim Crowley at York and he said 6f would be fine on Good to Soft or better.
Still only a 3yo, this son of Dark Angel could easily be one for the likes of the Wokingham or Bunbury Cup, next year and if he could progress, like Burnt Sugar, into a runner in the Group 1 Prix de la Foret, that would really be a dream come true.
He’s an exciting recruit to the MPR ranks.

Trainer Update: Roger gave him a piece of work to see where he is fitness wise and he did a nice piece with Admirality (rated 93) - he's near side on the video below (White Cap, Red and White jacket.)
