WINNER 47 OF 2023: AIRSHOW, trained by Rod Millman and ridden by Oliver Searle (-5): 'The 36 Years of Frankie Dettori at Goodwood Apprentice Handicap' over 6f at Goodwood.

Taking a slight bunny hop as the stalls opened, he was quickly at the head of the field. As they came to the 2 furlong marker, the rest of the field were under strong drives, with Oliver only needing to keep Airshow up to his work. Going clear over 1f out, Oliver had the chance to look right, then left to look for any challengers and he won, unchallenged, by 3 and a half lengths, getting lots of pats after the line!

Timeform rated it as an 85 performance, saying: "Went one better than on the all-weather at Kempton earlier in the week, less wayward under the pressure than can be the case; made all, went with zest, clear when edged right approaching final 1f, unchallenged; successful from higher marks in the past, he'll continue to go well.”

Oliver said in his Racing TV interview: "He ran a good race at Kempton over 7 furlongs 2 days ago and back to 6 here. He is a horse that when you get an easy lead, he really enjoys himself. I was confident when we hit the 2 pole and I didn't feel anything around me. He's so consistent and is a big asset to the yard, plus it is great to get a winner for this syndicate.”

Syndicate manager Tim, says: "You've got to love Airshow - now an 8 year-old, he still has such a great attitude to his racing. More congratulations to his owners, on his 12th career win! As James Millman said in his Racing TV summary, he loves it out in front and is just enjoying himself, which is lovely to see.
