WINNER 80 OF 2023: POWER OF STATES, trained by Simone Brogi and ridden by Mlle Anaelle Mekouche: The 'Prix Des Benevoled De La Societe' over 2,200m at Cazaubon.
Winning on stable debut 8 days ago, he was reunited with Anaelle, with this race 100 yards shorter than that victory.
A flag start, saw him at the back as they set off and at one point, he was 4 lengths adrift, but Anaelle kept her cool and let him get back to the field in his own time. Gradually making up ground, he began to pick them off after coming around the home turn and just as before, flew up the outside, under hands and heels to take the race really nicely, going away at the end.

Syndicate manager Tim says: "Congratulations to his owners and well done to Simone for winning both his starts in France! Anaelle gets on well with him and although they were left well behind at the start, she didn't panic and timed their run really well. Is it too early to start labelling him Mensen Ernst 2.0?!"
