Marie's Rock wins again in impressive style & eases us passed last year's winners' total for the year!

Thu 05 Dec 2019

Our Nicky Henderson trained MARIE'S ROCK eases us passed last year's winners' total for the year - now 89 in total!

PLUS we have crunched some numbers this morning and with our 11 National Hunt winners and 11 2nd places this year, that's 36% of our runners under rules to be in the top 2 finishing positions.

Winning races is fun, winning them by 5 lengths and pulling away is even nicer. She did a fair bit wrong yesterday at Haydock, on hurdling debut. She was a bit too free early on, her jumping could have been sharper, but to put the race to bed in the manner in which she did you can’t fail to be impressed. So much so in fact, that she got a few members of the press talking and she is in a few publications this morning.

If you click on the following link there are a few quotes from her syndicate manager Tom Palin and also an interview with her jockey Nico de Boinville: https://www.racingtv.com/news/drasher-shows-dash-at-haydock

Tom says "It all panned out nicely both from an educational perspective and obviously winning by the margin and in the style that she did. We have spoken with Nicky this morning and we are both in agreement that we should look at the Taunton Listed race with her next. It’s 2-mile Listed mares’ novices’ hurdle, which pretty much ticks all the boxes, she has the speed to handle somewhere like Taunton, it’s back against her own sex, of course it’ll be another step up in company but I feel she deserves a stab at it. This race is on the 30th December."

We also received a message from her breeder to say that her dam got a big pat on the neck last evening!

Many congratulations to her owners - she is a very exciting filly.

*No pressure on our 3 year old Crillon filly with Mr Henderson - rumour has it, that she has caught the eye in her prep too! (There's just 5% of shares remaining in her now.)
