Noble Mission ex Poster Girl filly
We are thrilled to have purchased this filly by NOBLE MISSION, to be trained by MARCO BOTTI in Newmarket. Ever since we purchased our Marco trained three-time winner and 93 Timeform rated Batchelor Boy at the same sale last year, we have been looking for a new breezer for Prestige Place and we found her at Tattersalls!
The Tattersalls Craven Breeze Up Sale is the country’s and arguably Europe’s ‘premier’ Breeze ups sale, having produced countless Group 1 winning horses over the years, including our two, quite recent purchases, Group 1 winners DONJUAN TRIUMPHANT (Richard Fahey) and VENTURA STORM (Richard Hannon). It’s a tried and tested venue for ourselves and international buyers alike.
Noble Mission, a full brother to Frankel, but a multiple Group 1 Winner in his own right, has made an excellent start to his career as a stallion, especially over the pond in the USA. Both in the breeding sheds and in the auction ring, over here, he’s understandably finding himself trumped by his more illustrious brother, but that’s not been the case in the USA, where Frankel’s legacy is not so prevalent. However, Noble Mission’s progeny stats are very impressive indeed having sired numerous horses rated as high as 115 and his top performer, the Grade1 winner CODE OF HONOUR, being rated 121 no less.

This filly is impeccable bred on her dam’s side (her dam is by the stallion sensation War Front) with multiple Group winners, some household names being on her page, such as the stallion WAR COMMAND and NAVAL OFFICER.
If this filly is even remotely useful, on the track, having been purchased at the Breeze Ups for us by Marco for just 58,000gns, then she will be worth fortunes to continue her racing career in the USA or to the breeding sheds herself, when her racing career is over.
She won’t be out on the track, with immediate effect, she’s one for the second half of the season and we are sure we’ll see her racing over the winter on the AW, but she’ll be prepped to peak throughout her 3yo over middle distances. There’s even a small percentage chance that she could make up into an Epsom Oaks filly. With her pedigree, we live in hope, and we can dream.
See her breeze video in the gallery and her walk video here:
As you can detect and see from the photos of her breeze (see the gallery), she has a fabulous stride on her and her breeze was a deadeye gallop, straight down the middle of the track, ears pricked the whole way. She loved her work. Her breeze time was not exceptional, but you couldn’t possibly expect that from her breeding. She’s a filly for the future, over 10f and 12f, not just a here and now 2.5f Breeze Up whiz banger.
A gorgeous horse, quite a big horse, hopefully with a BIG future.
Trainer Update (27th August): As you can see from the new video in the gallery, she is floating up Warren Hill. She's well into her faster work now, and Marco is pleased with what he is seeing. He thinks she will be a nice filly next year. We are edging ever closer to her making a debut, Marco still believes that will be September. We will probably be looking at 7f/1m to start her off at, with her most effective trip probably proving to be 1m2f in time.
