Rarely at Middleham Park, are we able to afford a horse whose genes suggest he could be good enough to win at the top table, however through our undying search for quality, we have here, one who is as likely, as pretty much any horse in Europe, to be contesting such prizes.

We seem to have an uncanny knack of unearthing high-class middle distances horses on a very sensible budget. For instance, we spent 110,000 Guineas (a €50,000 yearling) on the unraced Ventura Storm. He was a three-time Group winner for us, including at Group 1 level and he placed 2nd in the 2016 St Leger. He was sold to Australia for a huge profit and is a Group 1 placed and Group 2 winner down under in Australia for his new connections. He finished 8th and 10th respectively in the last two Melbourne Cups. Raymond Tusk, an €85,000 son of High Chaparral is now a Group 2 Gran Premio Del Jockey Club winner, having won the Listed Glasgow Stakes and placed 6th in the St Leger. Currently rated 111, he looks destined for more success in 2020. Viren's Army, a €110,000 purchase was a 107 rated winner of the Chester Dee Stakes before being sold for £700,000 at the Royal Ascot, London Sale. He was sold to Godolphin who won at Meydan with him following his purchase.

This son of Ruler Of The World possesses significantly stronger genes than any of his MPR predecessors and he affords us a genuine opportunity to compete with the blue bloods of racing, in the middle distance 3yo and 3yo+ Blue Riband races around Europe. His father, Ruler Of The World, won the iconic Epsom Derby himself and he's already sired the multiple Group 1 and Grade 1 winner IridessaHe looks to be making a tip top stallion, as his sire Galileo would suggest he could. Only No Nay Never and Ruler Of The World have sired Group 1 winners from their first crops in 2018.

However, we've only told half the tale. The dam of our fabulous colt, Lady Dettoria has already produced the listed and Group 3 winner, Group 2 and Group 1 placed filly Sea Of Grace (by Born To Sea). She was a high-class performer, there's no doubt, with her official rating of 109 and Timeform rating of 114. However, it definitely looks as if Ruler Of The World will become a significantly smarter stallion than Born To Sea. Sea Of Grace is by some 4 pounds, the best progeny of the stallion Born To Sea. He's tended not to sire horses in the calibre of Sea Of Grace. The mare has done fantastically well. For Lady Dettoria, a visit to Ruler Of The World represents a huge upgrade compared with Born To Sea and affords us the luxury of believing that our colt could significantly outperform Sea Of Grace. From a family of top class, black type performers, the blue-blooded genes are well ensconced in this colt's pedigree. He wants for nothing, according to his pedigree.

He has the looks and the genes to be dining at racing's top table!

Syndicate manager update: Wildly impressive in victory last time out, on only his 2nd racecourse appearance, pulling easily clear in the style of a potentially high-class individual. Now in the care of Sir Mark Prescott, he really could be anything this year.
