We purchased the high-class TIGRE DU TERRE from this sale at Osarus in Bordeaux and we are hoping such success has struck again with this fabulous moving daughter of Tin Horse.
At the sale there were over 275 horses sold, and it is not one word of a lie to state that in our opinion, this filly was the best moving filly of the whole week. She catches the eye, not only for being a grey, but especially for her range of movement and the way she covers the ground. If she can translate such prowess and elegance to her faster movements then we could really be onto something here. Not overly fashionably bred, we have invested heavily here in individual and athlete, believing that she will be severely advantaged come her racing days by these.
We bought her in conjunction with Federico Barberini with whom we purchased our two Black type fillies CLEM FANDANGO and MISS BAR BEACH and Federico assures us that Dixie Union is a very speedy and highly influential broodmare sire, so the genes are indeed in there if this filly is destined to be another Group filly for us. We've had a few, Sandiva, Lily's Angel, Clem Fandango, Esentepe, Great Page, to name but five.
Richard Hannon, is no stranger to having top class fillies through his hands, BILLESDON BROOK, SKY LANTERN and TIGGY WIGGY, again to name but three! Our filly has a good size to her and has the potential both physically and genetically to progress with time and she could well be the sort of filly to stay distances of up to a mile in time. We believe we purchased her for a very very reasonable price given her outstanding prowess at the sales compared to her 275 contemporaries and the world really could be her oyster.
This filly is qualified for French owners premiums. France is well known for its lucrative system of Owners’ premiums on top of already generous prize-money. On the flat, a 2 or 3-year-old can earn an extra 64% on top of the race purse, so we would expect to be taking full advantage of this initiative.
Syndicate Manager Update: Unraced at 2, she's flying at home now and we can't wait to see her on the track as soon as the turf season commences. From her homework alone, she appears very talented indeed and could be in for a fantastic 2019 season. See the cantering video taken at our recent owners stable visit on this page.
