Glencadam Glory was purchased at the Tattersalls HIT sale. He was consigned by Castlebridge Consignment on behalf of Clarehaven Stables, John Gosden’s yard.
Glencadam Glory is currently rated 104, having run some outstanding races in the past. He was lightly raced as a 2-year-old, running only twice, finishing 2nd on debut before breaking his maiden next time out. Glencadam Glory really started to show his class as 3-year-old. He was 2nd in the Lingfield Derby trial behind Best Solution (119) before taking his chance in the Epsom Derby (2017) finishing a respectable 9th. It was on to the King Edward at Royal Ascot after the Derby, where he wasn't beaten far into 5th. He got back to winning ways at the start of 2018 at Wolverhampton. He returned to Royal Ascot for his final run for Gosden, in the Queen Alexandra. He finished an excellent 5th considering he didn’t seem to stay the 2m5f trip.
Glencadam is by the extremely impressive Nathaniel (The sire of Enable) and out of an Orpen (USA) mare. He is bred for 1m4f and is a candidate for all the top staying handicaps like the Ebor, the Cesarewitch and the Northumberland Plate.
