It was a classic Franny Norton make all ride. He broke smartly from stall 1 and never saw another rival until he was challenged on his outer in the last few strides, but he stayed on in determined style to win by a neck - earning a career best Timeform performance rating of 85. The cheers from his owners who were in attendance when he walked back into the winners enclosure were superb! After the race in interview Franny said: "He's a straightforward horse, I like him and I always knew I'd finish alright. When we came back in, the cheering was as if I had won The Derby! It's great to have owners here, that's what it's all about - those smiling faces." The £59,700 of prize money that One Hart and our three second placed runners earned over the weekend, helped to take us over the £500,000 mark for the year! You could call Saturday a frustrating day, with three 2nd places from three runners (ADMIRALITY, DEWEY ROAD, GLENCADAM GLORY,) until you see that all three finished with less than 1.5 lengths between them and the 3 winners. The absolute highlight being a fabulous 2nd place in the £250k Sky Bet Ebor, by GLENCADAM GLORY! We haven't got a bad record in the race from our three runners in the last four years - Raymond Tusk was 4th last year and Flymetothestars a head 2nd in 2017!
Well done to his owners and thank you for the great ride by David Allen and super training performance by Tim Easterby to get him back from injury, to put in a joint Timeform career best performance of 111.
