Purchased from the Goffs Premier Yearling Sale for £85,000 this colt heads to ARCHIE WATSON. The sale where we purchased our Group 1 winner and Champion European 2yo 2013; TOORMORE, Group 2 winner VENTURA TORMENTA and dual Group 2 winner KOOL KOMPANY.

By probably the most exciting first season sire of 2023, the Godolphin owned (Darley's) first season sire, EARTHLIGHT: "Shamardal’s undefeated French Champion juvenile who won the G1 Morny and G1 Middle Park."

This fabulous colt, who hails from a black type laden family, and being by a ROYAL APPLAUSE mare, he’s speed on speed, just what you need to operate in the early parts of the 2024 turf season in the build up to Royal Ascot.

He’s not just a one trick, early season sort, the reason we’ve had to stretch to £85,000 (a little more than we’ve typically spend with Archie) is that he possesses the size and quality to even improve as the 2024 season progresses as indeed did his sire AND his whole family. Speed and quality in perfect tandem.

He qualifies for The 'Harry's Half Million' race, to be held at the York Ebor meeting 2024. In 2022 we won the equivalent race with SHOULDVEBEENARING (an £40,000 purchase) and this year, 2023, we finished 2nd with ZIGGY’S CONDOR (a £62,000 purchase). He’s 'IRE' qualified too. This scheme awards a bonus of €10,000 to owners of Irish-bred winners of selected races across the Flat and National Hunt programmes in Ireland and Britain. We would have until the end of the following year to spend the bonus on Irish-breds at Irish sales for the relevant syndicate.
