Race entries

Purchased from the Goffs Premier Yearling Sale, where we purchased our Group 1 winner and Champion European 2yo 2013; TOORMORE (£36,000), Group 2 winner VENTURA TORMENTA and dual Group 2 winner KOOL KOMPANY (£40,000) - all trained by Richard!

DANDY MAN has become one of the most prolific sources of naturally speedy & high quality 2yo’s, the likes of our very own Ventura Diamond, plus Group 1 winners River Boyne, Peniaphobia, La Pelosa, Group 3 winner Happy Romance and Dandalla to name but a few. Already the dam of a 100 rated, listed performer, Wedding Wish, being by the speed biased broodmare sire Acclamation, looks the perfect fit for Dandy Man and we hope we’ve unearthed the perfect candidate for both Royal Ascot and for the ‘Harry’s Half Million’ Sales race, for which, only graduates of this sale, qualify. In 2022 we won the sales race with SHOULDVEBEENARING and this year we finished 2nd with ZIGGY’S CONDOR. Transposed to next year’s race, those performances would net owners £245,000 and £98,000 respectively.  Read the story. here: https://www.thoroughbreddailynews.com/renamed-harrys-half-million-by-goffs-race-will-be-worth-500k-in-2024/

With a Sales’ hammer price of £80,000, this beautiful, and free moving colt looks just the ticket, and could prove to represent exceptional value, this time next year. The Sales race, to which we allude, held on York’s Ebor Meeting card, has been won by Richard Hannon in 5 of the last 8 years, so were better to send such an exciting colt?

Furthermore, this colt qualifies for a €10,000 IRE bonus, should he win a qualifying maiden or novice Stakes race in 2024. You can read more about how it works, here: https://www.itm.ie/Buying/Sales-Incentives/IRE-Incentive

He will qualify for the £100,000 EBF Restricted Conditions race, held at York in October on 2024, should we wish to qualify him and enter him for the race.

It’d be of no real surprise, were he to look to emulate horses like Kool Kompany, Toormore, Shouldvebeenaring, Ventura Tormenta etc, all purchased by ourselves, in conjunction with ace Bloodstock agents Peter & Ross Doyle, for Richard Hannon to train.

The sky’s the limit for this fabulously well-bred colt.

Pedigree update: 'Half sister: Thanks Monica (IRE) (19 f. by Teofilo (IRE)): 2 wins at 3, 2022 and £27,829 and placed 4 times; also 4th Prix Luth Enchantée, L.'

He is now at pre-training with Richie McGrath, where we send all our yearlings each year and the updates on her progress will be added below.

Training Update (22nd September): Richie reports: "He is getting on well and has progressed from lunging with one and two reins, stopping and starting on command and is now long reining in the arena and around the farm. We have just introduced him to long reining through the stalls which they will now do on a daily basis. He is also getting led when ridden around the farm and also starting to trot in the barn. He has been very good to do everything with."  See the videos of his progress, below.
