Winner 51 of 2026: LEXINGTON EXPRESS, trained by Marco Botti and ridden by Marco Ghiani. The ‘Come Racing For Free 18th June Handicap’ over 1mile at Southwell.

Our pair got off to a perfect start from the stalls at Southwell, disputed the lead from the off and set strong fractions in the early part of the race, but eased it down around the bend to get a good breather into our filly.

With the eventual second horse looming, Marco kicked for home at the top of the straight, stealing a length in the process. It looked like the favourite was going to run our filly down in the final yards of the race, but Lexington Express showed guts and really stuck her neck out to win by a nose.

A fantastic result for everyone involved, after a fine ride from Marco, who had a very willing partner in Lexington Express, who showed a brilliant attitude and has really been thriving since her winter break. Four podium finishes from 5 runs in 2026 so far.
