Winner 76 of 2026: SAFFRON DANDY, trained by Richard Hannon and ridden by Joe Leavy. The ‘Casamigos Handicap’ over 5f at Goodwood.

Our very likeable daughter of the late Dandy Man is now three-from-seven in 2026 and a four-time winner overall.

Having dropped back to 5 furlongs for the first time since her winning debut, she showed bright speed and disputed the lead inside the first 100 yards.

Saffron Dandy was in control of the race and travelled strongly under Joe Leavy before her opponents made their challenges. But our filly found plenty under pressure and was determined in the closing stages to make her first run on the Sussex-based racetrack, a winning one.

Huge well done to her owners, after a very game performance in a thrilling finish from Saffron Dandy.

Timeform rated her 4th victory with an 86, commenting: "Well backed, had slipped back to last winning mark and came out on top with the run of things back down in trip (now won both of her outings at 5f), handing much softer ground than previously well; made all, ridden over 1f out, kept on."
