Inspired Ride!

Tue 14 May 2024

WINNER 31 OF 2024: INSPIRED KNOWHOW, trained by Marco Botti and ridden by Hollie Doyle: 'The Follow The Racing App On Twitter Handicap' over 5f at Windsor.

After a good 3rd place at Yarmouth in April (despite being hampered and stumbling at the start) he looked in good heart in the paddock. All the talk pre race, was for the favourite Recon Mission, who was drawn in the next stall.

Breaking well, Hollie had him tracking the leaders. Making their challenge1f out he stayed on well and with Recon Mission, they were pulling away from the field. A sprinting dual ensued and on the line, he just prevailed by the closest of margins, a nose! (You can see the photo finish image in the gallery.)

Timeform rated it as a 74 performance, commenting: "Who'd shaped with plenty of promise without being seen to best effect last time, was down 1f in trip and got off the mark in determined fashion; chased leaders, took strong hold, challenged over 1f out, edged ahead dying strides."

There was no Sky Sports Racing coverage afterwards, but Hollie did say to us: "He showed loads of gate speed, settled and travelled well. We were a bit wider than ideal, but he knuckled down so well and was so tough in the finish. He is such a kind natured horse and I think there is more to come from him."

Syndicate manager Tim says: "What a finish! I wasn't sure as they crossed the line, who had got it, but when the call was made, we were delighted! A special well done to his patient owners who have stayed with him after some time off the track, but it was great to see him put that performance. A double win, as this was the first winner for his dam Simmy's Temple, who raced in our silks for Keith Dalgleish. Congratulations to Marco and his team, who are having a good start to the season and who have brought Inspired Knowhow back in great shape.

It has been a great start to the year for us, with now 31 winners and on Sunday, thanks to Prince Of Zenda running a stormer to take 2nd in the feature Class 2 at Newcastle, we passed £700,000 of race prize money won this year. This week we head to The Dante Festival at York, where last year, we won the Listed Marygate Stakes with GOT TO LOVE A GREY. We've got a talented team lined up for this year - take a look at the horses already declared and those with entries, here: Best of luck to our owners and the training teams lining up."
