Winner 21 of 2026: FILLY FODEN, trained by Rod Millman, and ridden by Lewis Edmunds. The ‘Bet £10 Get £40 With BetMGM Handicap’ over 5f at Lingfield.

Wonderful to see our genuine, but so often unlucky in defeat, Filly Foden gain confidence and score back-to-back victories. She broke well from the gates under Lewis Edmunds, but settled for second, tracking the favourite. Coming off the bend, she was travelling strongest, powering into the lead to win by over 4 lengths.

Well done to Rod and his team at home for keeping her sweet to win again, only 8 days on from her last victory.

An impressed Lewis Edmunds post-race: "I managed to slot and get a nice toe into the race, she's got so much speed, and I was always happy where we were positioned throughout the race. When we got around the bend, she changed her lead and really started to pick up the bridle. Once she straightened up, we skipped away from the rest nicely and I must say, I was really impressed by that. You'd like to think there is more to come."

Winner 22 of 2026: MONSIEUR KODI, trained by Richard Fahey, and ridden by Warren Fentiman (3). The ‘Read Meg Nicholls' Blog At betmgm.co.uk Handicap’ over 7f at Lingfield.

If there was a horse to be picked as the perfect syndicate horse, Monsieur Kodi would have to be in the mix. His 9th victory and a further 14 podium finishes for our son of Kodiac, who is in splendid form of late. It was a very clever ride from Warren, tracking the leading pair after a good start, without overracing. He timed his surge down the outside perfectly, closing in on the eventual second yard by yard, to win by ½ length. A brilliant and hugely deserving victory for the now 7-year-old.

Timeform rated his 9th victory with a 93+: "Has been gradually going the right way all season and resumed winning ways back on testing ground, his record 3 from 4 on soft/heavy this year and was value extra over the bare form too, the 2l or so he surged clear 1f out a better reflection of him; chased leaders, pushed along soon after halfway, led under 2f out, hung right, went clear, closed down only late on; he'll continue to give a good account, especially when the mud is flying."

A truly pleased Tom Palin on our consistent Monsieur Kodi: "Congratulations. A very deserving victory for Kodi; he has been running incredibly consistently for nearly 6 months. Very much deserving of getting his head back in front. His 9th victory overall, which is a huge achievement for any horse. I thought it was a shrewd ride from Warren Fentiman, who had him in the perfect spot, identified that there wasn't much pace forecast, and chased behind the eventual second at the right time. The rider of the eventual second got the fractions nearly spot on, but Kodi dug deep and saw the 7 furlongs out well too."
