Winner 60 of 2025: VENTURA DREAM, trained by Archie Watson and ridden by Hollie Doyle. ‘Arc Celebrates Shared Ownership Handicap’ over 1m at Lingfield. 

After a few good runs, without winning, it was Ventura Dream's time to shine again. Credit must go to his jockey, Hollie Doyle, who wasn’t given an easy time at the start, but turned the ride into a great judge of pace and a brilliant piece of race riding. Our pair broke well but was quickly surrounded by several horses on her outer and inner to take over the lead. Hollie surrendered and settled in second, on the tail of the leader. 

Knowing the advantageous position the leading pair had gained, she made sure not to let them get away without doing too much in the middle part of the race. But once Ventura was able to fill his lungs, she swiftly appeared on the outside when turning for home to dispute the lead. Ventura Dream responded gamely under pressure and kept on all the way to the line. A comfortable second victory for our 3-year-old.

A Joyeuse syndicate Manager, Tom Palin, was also full of praise after the race: "Congratulations! What a peach Hollie has given him there this afternoon. Ultimately, there was much more pace than expected, with Hollie having to work extremely hard to maintain her position after the start and get him across. I thought she did get it spot on, despite having to use plenty of powder in the early part of the race.  Hollie also absolutely nailed the time to kick and get to the head of affairs. But you can't win the race without a very willing partner, and Ventura Dream was incredibly tough today in the closing stages and battled hard to see off all late attacks. Well done, everyone - a brilliant victory by your  horse and Hollie."
