Belle-issima!

Fri 16 Apr 2021

OUR 17th WINNER OF 2021: BLUENOSE BELLE, trained by Marco Botti and ridden by PJ McDonald: 'QuinnBetCasino Maiden Fillies' Stakes,' over 1m 2f at Newcastle.

Our daughter of Noble Mission, was having her second start. She made her debut over 1 mile at Doncaster in October and Marco upped her to the 10f yesterday. She bounced out of the stalls and sat in the slipstream of the leaders on the rail. At the 3 pole, PJ was still quiet in the saddle, as others began to come off the bridle. 2 furlongs from home in the long straight, he asked her to quicken and she responded well, seeing off challengers to win, ridden out, by 1 1/2 lengths. In fact, she pricked her ears coming to the line and they are big ears too!

Timeform say: "After 6 months off, showed much improved form to get off the mark, seeming to benefit from the longer trip, even if the emphasis was more on speed; tracked pace, not settle fully, went on over 2f out, responded well; she already looks an uncomplicated sort, one that ought to do better again."

Syndicate manager Tim says: "Marco sent us two lovely images of her this morning looking pleased with herself after her trip north (see the gallery.) He and I will convene about where we go next with her. It was nice to see her get off the mark in the week where we have been at the Tattersalls Craven Breeze Up Sale, as we bought her from this very sale last year."

It's been a very good April for our horses so far, with 5 winners, 4 2nd places and 9 3rd places giving our owners plenty to cheer on and many have been attending the races and telling us that they have been welcomed back with open arms and good hospitality.

At The Craven Meeting this week, MARIE'S DIAMOND was a super 2nd in the Group 3 Earl Of Sefton Stakes on seasonal debut, THE ROSSTAFARIAN was hailed "the eyecatcher" by the ITV Racing team, after hitting all sorts of trouble in The Group 3 feature Craven Stakes and yet managing to finish 5th. We have left him in the 2,000 Guineas and he remains an exciting and very striking colt for his owners this season.

We revert also to the National Hunt team over the next few days, with HIGH WORTH declared to have his second start at the Ayr Scottish Grand National meeting, after placing 2nd on debut. GET THE APPEAL is declared at Wincanton on Sunday and REVICH, who had a super seasonal debut in the Lincoln, is declared on Greenham Day at Newbury on Sunday, in the £32k Class 2 Spring Cup Handicap.

As ever, lots to cheer on and having 17 winners on the board for the year already is lovely!
